“I use my work to recognize the power of potential, to encourage self-reflection, and to celebrate hope.”

Kristin Wesley is a mixed media art maven using installations, assemblages and murals to connect with communities, invigorate spaces and inspire others. Living and working in Phoenix, Arizona, Kristin holds concurrent Bachelor’s Degrees in Fine Art Intermedia and the Interdisciplinary Studies of Psychology and Philosophy from Arizona State University. She studied Art Therapy at George Washington University in Washington, DC and has extensive experience using art in educational, therapeutic, public and entertainment settings.

Kristin works with a variety of materials, from paint and clay to steel and propane. She particularly enjoys manually plasma cut repurposed steel sculpture and is inspired by the untold history of objects. Her work employs biomorphic imagery, utilizing gardens and plants as existential metaphors. She is fascinated by the emotive interactions of color and light, entropically evolving patterns and expressive use of color.

Kristin uses her platform as an artist to create community and raise awareness about mental health issues. In 2021 she founded Roosevelt ArtWorks, a creative arts studio, gallery and tattoo shoppe in the Grand Avenue Historic Arts District where she hosts events, workshops and gallery shows. Her whimsical retail line, Smile Shoppe provides wearables and gifts celebrating life and sharing messages of hope.
